✍️ YouTube
Around 2005, YouTube launched as a dating website.
It was a failure. Cofounders uploaded the first video to YouTube in 2005, titled “Me at the zoo.”
Users eventually flocked to YouTube, by sharing home videos of vacations, pets, and just about anything else.
✍️ Instagram
It was Burbn that allowed users to check in at their favorite spots, make plans to meet up, and share photos.
It didn’t do well, until cofounder Kevin Systrom noticed which feature users were using the most: photo sharing.

✍️ Twitter
Originally Odeo launched to find, make, and subscribe to podcasts.
Apple’s introduction of iTunes, put brakes on it’s plans.
Co-founders began working on the blueprint for Twttr – a product that centered on brief statuses of what people were doing right now, launching it in 2006.
